About Me

I don't think I will ever be good at music.  I just don't seem to have the patience or ability to really sit down and understand an instrument.  Yes, I do have a fairly wide range of instruments I can kinda-sorta play, and at one point surprisingly I was a youth group worship leader for a couple of months (funny story), but at no point can I display any mastery over any musical instrument.  I can play the most basic of music on the guitar, just enough to impress people at parties.  I can rock a mean Hot Cross Buns on the recorder, and from grades 5-8 I actually played the flute...yup...clearly I was awesome in grades 5-8...

I still love music though, I can get lost listening to a great album, a transcendent song that is so perfect for any given moment that it almost overwhelms you.  A quiet winter night with the song Midnight by Coldplay just cannot be beaten.  The experience is ethereal and wonderful.

My iTunes library numbers of 10 000 songs covering genres as wide as classical to heavy metal, from the pop music of today to the popular music of the 70's, it is a taste that spans both genres and decades.  Music is that good, and this blog is an attempt for me to share some of my own thoughts about music and the music industry.

The blog itself will be a mix of list
s and thoughts on music, a fair assortment of top 10's and interests pieces that I hope everyone can enjoy.  The interests pieces won't be particularly technical...as I have absolutely no formal training in advanced music and I hope the lists are able to introduce you to a new type of music that enthralls and excites you.
